On Aug 9th, we flew from Chicago to Spokane by way of Denver. To say it quickly, the flight was awful. I feel for those people who fly with multiple children all by themselves. I'm so sorry to you all. Thanks to lots of food, hours of entertainment on the moving walkways, the stroller, and our new portable DVD player, we survived. We've made a few enemies by Kelsey's screaming, but we survived.
On Friday, after sleeping in a little and lots of caffeine, we all adjusted pretty quickly (thankfully!) and I think it was because the kids were up so late that it worked out with the two hour time difference.
After relaxing all day, visiting with the Monson family and picking up Joe Robledo--the other best man, we enjoyed leaving our kids with a babysitter and going to the wedding dinner. It was so fun to talk, eat, and not worry about the kids for the evening!
The wedding day arrived! Brian and Tycie got married in the Spokane temple in the morning. It was a beautiful ceremony and the more I know about Tycie, the more impressed with her I am. She's wonderful and beautiful and absolutely perfect for Brian. Welcome to the family!
Afterwards, we relaxed and Steve and I got to see our first Olympics for the season. Thank you TiVo!
Here is Kelsey before the reception. Kelsey got lots of compliments on her dress and I loved that it was actually a 3T shirt that I put little panties with!

Tycie gained 13 nieces and nephews!

Shauna with Zeke, who decided he wanted to be born at home.
Partway through the reception, Steve realized that it was his and Joe's responsibility to decorate the car. (By the way, Joe was WONDERFUL with our kids! We considered adopting him for the rest of our trip) So we hopped in the van, drove out to Albertson's and bought some suitable decorating materials. Here is the process:
I feel like we did alright!
When I got back into the party, I found Kelsey with cake ALL over her dress and face. Apparently, Steve had been eating a piece of cake with her in his arms when she decided that that cake was hers. She grabbed it and stuffed it into her mouth as fast as she could!
What a wonderful day! We're so thrilled to have Tycie in the family! Congratulations you two!
