Picture Update

I have a bunch of pictures that I wanted to blog since Kelsey was born. Josh has been such a darling big brother. I love that he takes such good care of her! This is from when she was a day or two old.

I thought it was kind of cute how big the size difference of their diapers is:

Its amazing how fast you can fall asleep when you get so little sleep.

Josh found Kelsey's hat and he wouldn't be satisfied until he got to try it on. We thought it looked like a little yamaka.

She's so teeny! Here she is 2-days old.

Mal came to visit! She's wonderful and we're so happy to live in the same city as her!

She has been more alert than I remember Josh

ever being. I love her dark eyes and they are starting to lighten to a beautiful blue.Josh built a fortress for himself. However, he seemed to think that the blanket would hold him, so after he dove head-first onto it (twice) from the couch, I had to take it down. Our two babies
Josh is into coloring lately. He learned the word for "colors" in sign and I frequently hear the word even when I can't see him.

For Mother's Day, Steve bought me a Moby wrap. Kelsey loves being held, but its frustrating when my hands are constantly needed. Its been great to feel like a real person again with arms and everything!

Monica came to town! On Saturday (May 14th) the twins took me out to lunch and then to get pedicures. I'm now addicted! We had a great afternoon and then they came back to dote on 'the babies' (to quote Monica). I sure love these girls!

bottom, Mal's on the left and Monica's on the top.) This outfit was given to us by Steve's mom. We think it is just darling! It is a little frustrating to me that babies grow out of those clothes so quickly.
Last weekend, Uncle Scott came to visit. He quickly took up his post of doting on our children.

Friday, we visited the zoo. We just barely got our zoo passes to the Brookfield Zoo and we love using them as much as possible.

Almost 6 weeks--isn't she pretty?

I'm starting to get good at multi-tasking! Here are a few examples.

We LOVE this little girl! She is such a darling and we have loved seeing Josh as a big brother. Although we've lost a lot of sleep and getting ready to go anywhere takes so much longer, its been SO worth it! What a special blessing she has been to us!

Easter Pictures

We had a wonderful Easter! We are so grateful for our Saviour who died for us and rose again!

We enjoyed the celebration and loved taking pictures of our family!

The week before (Kelsey was 3 days old), we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at our church building. Originally, it was to be outside, but it was raining that day, so it was done inside. When we started to look for the eggs, we took Josh to the Relief Society room and he started getting upset, since we normally drop him off for nursery. Once he realized that there was candy in the eggs, he was happy again. Steve opened one of the eggs to show him the candy, that is all he would do. He wouldn't collect the eggs, he'd just open them.

Easter Sunday! Joshua got a new outfit--fit for Chicago! It was complete with a little pocket handkerchief and pinstripes. The inspiration for this outfit came from Al Capone. As you know, he's a famous gangster, but what you may not have known is that he is from Chicago. Since we now claim Chicago as home, we thought we'd get the outfit.

For some reason, Joshua hates smiling for pictures if Kelsey is in the picture as well.

Easter dinner was SO fun! We were invited over to the Tates to celebrate. We provided the ham and the chocolate trifle (layers and layers of goodness!) and they did the rolls, asparagus, and funeral potatoes. I was very impressed when I saw the work the put into the rolls--we each got one shaped like a bunny!

Shawn and Emily found a some butter shaped like a lamb, but after watching the movie "The Lamb of God", they couldn't bring themselves to actually eat it. Steve, however, had no problems using the butter from its hind end.

Josh LOVES Shawn and Brim. When Shawn was feeding his son, Josh plopped himself right down to help himself. Shawn ended up getting an extra spoon and throughout our conversations, we kept hearing "One bite for Brim, one bite for Joshua..."

I feel so blessed to have met Emily! She is so wonderful and I'm grateful to know her!

...also, I didn't bother offering to take Kelsey back because I knew she was in good hands...
